Hydro-Seeding - 'And Erosion Control'
Our "Liquid-Grass" is growing by demand!
Ever notice all that 'green stuff' being sprayed on the sides of highways and large embankments? Well, friend, that's call hydroseeding, and here at OHC we call it liquid-grass! For just a fraction of what it costs to install sod, you can easily cover your lawn in no time with this modern miracle of lawn technology!
Hydroseeding is a process of planting that disperses seed in a slurry of paper mulch and other ingredients, depending on the conditions. The mulch in the mixture helps to maintain the moisture level, insuring a speedy germination time and in turn faster grass! In addition, hydroseeding is an excellent means of inhibiting soil erosion, creating a lush, green scene in the place of what would be washed away dirt. Aside from typical grass seed, hydroseeding can be used with just about anything, including wildflower, which is beautiful around ponds!
Why choose 'Liquid Grass' over sod?
There are many advantages to choosing hydroseed over sod; steep hills and extremely large areas are a start! The most significant difference, however, is in the price. A standard palette of sod will cover about 450 square feet at somewhere around $200 or more per palette. Hydroseeding, depending on the type of seed used, costs somewhere around 12 to 15 cents per square foot, which works out to under $70 for the same amount of area! True, sod is instantly gratifying to the eye, but with OHC's Liquid Grass, the gratification will all be in your wallet!
